the gathering: halfway point

I have been reading.  I swear I have.  I just haven’t had anything to write about my reading because I am still making my way through The Gathering.  I’ve received the halfway point and I still don’t feel like I’ve even started.  Much has happened and yet the round about way Enright uses to tell the story, moving from memory to memory, often losing me along the way, makes me feel as if I am still waiting for the main story to begin.  I think it has, I’m sure it has, but somehow it didn’t start for me.  Hopefully it will somewhere in the second half…
